Hi friends, I hope your having a wonderful week.
I sincerely hope you and your family are not being affected by any of the gunfire or storms that have erupted so far this week. Trying to at least color my little corner of the world, I played with some color in the Dining Room.
Using purples, oranges and some picked oakleaf hydrangea stems I created purplicious Fall table.
The dishes were bought two years ago at HomeGoods. I like them, but for some reason don't really use them a lot. They just seem perfect for Fall and that's it. I know they would work perfectly other times of the year but in my heart they seem to only fit this season.
Strange isn't it? They don't even have anything specific that dictates they only get used in Fall.
I found a cute Hayrides and Cider Farm Pillow at Homegoods too and that followed me home a couple weeks ago.
Everything else on this table I have had with the exception of the pumpkins, those are real.
I gave a oakleaf hydrangea bush a small prune and brought the clippings inside for a vase. I love it, it looks so pretty! There are so many different types of centerpieces going through my brain right now, or ways to use real flowers or stems, it's hard to narrow it down to just one.
I had to retrain myself to go clip more. In my garden those shrubs are notorious for being slow growers and they also don't like being pruned. That's why I took the whole branch off, it was encroaching the sidewalk at the bottom. I am liking the lighter look anyway.
I keep saying I am going to get some Fall shots of my garden and I keep working in the yard.
I go to Lowe's for one thing and see a sign that just screams my name.
Or the cashier does, literally. Sharon has worked in the garden center as long as I have been going there and I finally introduced myself, because it's like greeting one of you.
A long time friend.
Anyway, now she sees me parking and yells. Christine! Christine, 50% all trees, shrubs and perennials!
How can I pass that up! Now if they would just mark the mulch down. I need so much mulch now for all 4 corners of my front, back and side yard it is going to have to be delivered nest year!
If I can spend time outside and pick up my shovels, rakes and clippers which are literally being left outside night and day and the storms hold off I will get some shots and try and show you all our hard work before the frosts come.
Thanks so much for spending this time with me and I hope you have a great day!
