I know you feel it too sometimes. The "How can I get a updated look without buying all new holiday decor". I get it and if we are all being candid here...
Everybody feels the same way. No one wants to constantly keep repeating their seasonal decor over and over again. Especially bloggers! I honestly think we are the worst! We have to get those pins on pinterest. Have to be great, have to inspire. Have to grab your attention. Have to have to have to. Have to start pinning those holiday decor articles. It seems like a boxing bell goes off and we're all fighting for that viral Christmas pin. It truly makes me laugh sometimes. But let's talk about trying to update and re-use what we have for a new look shall we? I truly believe everyone has some form of creative if they dig deep enough to find it.
Ways to reuse Holiday Cards
Use them as gift tags. I love this idea and am going to do this one. I received quite a few cards that I'd love to see again.Source |

- Make magnets for your refrigerator.
- Make Paper Luminaries for your tables.
- Cut them to fit inside your favorite picture frame.
- Shred them into confetti and fill clear plastic ornaments.
- Make your favorite holiday bunting.
- Cut them into wide bands and glue to your holiday candles. (Please burn responsibly)
- Make Napkin rings.
- Attach them to your curtains with pins and use them as tie backs.
Using Spray Paint or Chalk Paint to update Christmas Decor
- Painting plastic ornaments a new trendy color, can completely change the look of your tree.
- Paint your worn out nutcrackers all your favorite color.
- Give your old chargers for your dinner table a nice new color.
- Stencil your favorite quote or cutout on your dated holiday napkins.
- Spray paint those old evergreen wreaths all white, gold, silver or black. Any one item hung up in mass, especially the same color is always dramatic.
