Christmas Porch - Decorating Outside for Christmas on a Budget
Decorating outside for me is the pinnacle of the holiday season as far as decorating goes. Once I finish the porch, I feel like I can relax.
Each year my blonde brain comes up with a pretty good idea and depending on how much I like it, I may repeat it. The large 48" tall wreath is a prime example as we hung it in the same spot as last year. Of course it was my husbands idea, but I said yes to it.
Being blonde I also had my pre-christmas reminder go off on my phone in October to tell me that it was time to browse the thrift stores for holiday ornaments. a week later while out browsing one, I found 10 to 12 boxes of red ornaments probably dating back to the 70's. Definitely shiny and definitely breakable. The highest price for one box was two bucks, so I make no apologies for my premature christmas joy.
I bought every single box. Yes I am a early Christmas decor purchaser. I'm the blonde walking down the street with a scarlet letter on her chest. They filled my lanterns perfectly.
I cut some arborvitae and hydrangeas from my yard and potted them up in two urns flanking my bench. I almost didn't because on the day these were taken, we had a heat wave of 48 degrees and potential rain coming. I felt like I was playing beat the clock and didn't think I'd be able to get it done. I also brought out a cute fire pit my oldest daughter gave me for Christmas last year and it seems to fit perfectly right in front of the bench.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my outdoor christmas decor tour of my porch.
Merry Christmas!
