Setting the Table
Hi Friends, Happy 2019! I think this year is going to be a fun filled, garden packed, entertaining filled year. I am like most of you, deep into purging (again) and clearing out the decks and my dish closets too. I am hoping to do more entertaining this year but with less clutter.
If I haven't touched or used it in the past 4 months it is going bye bye. During the past holiday season I was literally dumping leftover decor not related to Christmas on the floor of my girl cave. So it is literally a disaster! But hopefully soon I will have it back to normal mode. I may slow down and take pictures to show ya'll actually how bad it got. Leave me a comment below if you think that'd be fun to read about.
This table I did just to brighten up the Dining Room after the holiday decor left. It needed some greenery. I may hit up a store or two and buy some indoor plants to help get me through winter.
I think my lemon cypress needs a buddy. Right now Greg is hauling a crap load of leftover wood outside and all the cardboard we acquired from buying new trees, a snow thrower and gifts to burn in the fire pit. It is literally warm enough to wear a light jacket. Such a weird winter here in Indiana!
The dishes are from Ikea. The small wreaths are from a local mom and pop store that sells "primitives". The napkins are from HomeGoods. The galvanized box is also from HG, I found late last summer on clearance for ten bucks. Once I plopped on the table I got inspired pretty quickly. I think it's kind of farmhouse inspired with some industrial touches to it. The metal against my barn wood table really sets the tone for the room.
I placed a call to a local licensed contractor to see how much it'll cost to open up this dining room. If the price is right I may not DIY it but let the pro's handle it. That'd be a nice change! But waiting on others is not a strong suit for me, that's why I usually end up shocking Greg by letting him come home to a huge hole in the wall and then I say something stupid like
Look what happened accidentally...
