Early Spring Garden Tour
Hi! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. I was able to spend time digging in the dirt and had time to take some pictures to share.
So let's take an early garden tour to see what's going on in the yard.
2 pink and one light purple. I also found some variegated Hosta that should stay on the smaller size of 2 feet by 2 feet.
Of course I may have delayed our mulching, I'm not sure. In addition to planting new perennials, I am relocating plants also. In the process of digging up a big leaf hydrangea that isn't really blooming very well for my taste, I cut the soaker hose. I was so mad at myself. Greg however was tickled with laughter. The "Scilla Siberica Blue" I planted last Fall is so small, I almost missed it. It's such a sweet little pop of blue.
I found some bright yellow evergreen shrubs called "Creeper"?
The tag is still on them outside. Today I'll hopefully remember to cut it off and get a picture of it for my records.
Greg and I had family over yesterday for a backyard dinner, so I snuck out to get these shots as the Sun was going down.
This spot below always gets a ton of weeds, being right by the driveway. I am hoping the phlox will help with that. Plus, when the purple smokebush that's pruned into tree form leafs out, I think it's going to be striking!
This is where the incident happened. The blasted cutting of the soaker hose. Then the snickering of the male husband upon hearing a blonde swear in frustration.
This is me, counting the days until the alliums and tulips bloom giving me some late Spring color. I have 3 more bags of tulips that I couldn't get planted last year, so this week my hope is to tuck them in where I need some color and just imagine the look for next year.
Have you planted anything yet this spring?
