Dining Room Decorated for Christmas
Each room I decorated this year I am taking my time on. I still feel that tension to try and get it done as fast as I can but when I look back and see pictures of all the rustic detail I've added to the tree in the dining room? I'm glad I took my time! The Dining Room calls me at night especially. The tree lights and lights just draw me in there every night, just to gaze and stare.
Scroll down in this post and there's a link to a YouTube video I created while I did the tablescape. I also took these shots with my new camera. Believe me I wanted to cheat and use my I phone because editing RAW images takes me a lot longer then the way I've been doing it for years, so it was hard for me not to cheat.
I used an owl on this tree as well. He's perched up as a topper with some silk greenery. He kicked off my white rustic wintery tree for this room. I have a flocked swag on the table with lights and like the thick robe garland on the tree, it's on my table too!
I almost chickened out by hitting a big box store to buy the rope, but I pushed through and am so glad I did! I love love love the rope garland!
As a special treat, if you're interested; I created my first video ever setting this table. It was a task let me tell you editing the video. I screwed up so many times I almost gave up! 8 hours I worked on this video. I know if I keep making videos I will get a rhythm going and it won't be such a learning curve hopefully next time!
I put a roast in the oven already seasoned and 2 hours later it's done. Hot, pink, juicy and ready to slice and eat.
My son and his girlfriend are driving up, so it will be a family packed night and I love it that way!
Even though I have no clue what to get either of them for gifts. I know in my heart I will never get that 9 year old response of opening presents again but a Mom likes to try.
I'm also looking forward to the games we'll play and the conversations that the kids share when the cousins are all gabbing away in the kitchen over drinks.
I am working on the finishing touches of the kitchen, living room and master bedroom, so stay tuned!
