Taking a garden stroll in late May early June in my Zone 5 garden is the best time if you like to see how quickly things can change.
My garden literally changes almost every day, with new color sprouting up and old color fading off. Some tulips came early, some later in Spring. Then the alliums started blooming early. Talk about a show of color!
It really is fun to see. Especially when you start to think maybe you have lost something over the winter. Then three days later, there it is.
I hate to type this, but I may have found the right combo for my chandelier planter. Knock on wood.
In the past I have tried petunias, mini petunias, creeping jenny. But this simple ground cover (Vinca) seems to work. It got hit by a light frost, but is coming back nicely. I just need to remember to water it at least every other day.
I dug up almost the entire area and moved all three Bobo Hydrangeas to the backyard. It was getting to the point where I felt like the weed was multiplying and also laughing at me.
And I won't be beaten by a weed. Three small butterfly bushes got added with some yellow grass. I have the tags sitting on my potting bench waiting for me to take pictures of them to store electronically. I just haven't made it a priority yet.
I hope you've enjoyed this quick tour and stay tuned for more.
Have a great day!

Love it, Christine! Those alium are just gorgeous. No weed should attempt to battle you. It should know it's going to LOSE.
